Zombie Holocaust (1980) Blu-ray


1. Blu-ray ALL America - Severin Films / Blu-ray ALL Canada - Severin Films

The extra:

Roy Frumkes' segment from the unfinished 1977 anthology film "Tales That Will Tear Your Heart Out"

includes narration by Roy Frumkes. This narration is not currently mentioned. Note that this is the only soundtrack option for this extra - the original audio is not included (I assume it is either lost or never existed).

Basically it is the same as the extra:

2. Blu-ray ALL United Kingdom - 88 Films [2023 Release]

runtime appears to be incorrect - should probably be 89:08 (as per the 88 Films 4K UHD release).


3. In the "OVERALL" section, it erroneously states:

"...the Severin release inserts "The Pit" sequence from VHS..."

Firstly, there is more than one Severin release, so it should probably be plural (if included at all), plus it would need updating again to clarify once the forthcoming Severin UHD + Blu-ray is released.

Secondly, it is not true - the scene looks to be from a different source to the rest of the movie, but it is definitely sourced from film - the detail is way too high to be from VHS.

(However, the notes in the "CUTS" section for the Severin releases already correctly state "with the pit scene restored from film elements", so these do not need changing.)


4. UPDATE LOG has not been updated - last update listed is April 2022, but the page includes a 2023 release!


5. As a general point, "The Pit" scene is referred to in many different ways across the DVD / Blu-ray / 4K UHD pages, including different phrasings, upper and lower case letters, and different uses and positionings of double quote symbols ( " ), making it all quite messy, so these could be tidied up to be more consistent - if you can be bothered!
